Many witnesses believe that they worship a "god of love". These pictures tell me they worship the god of "don't make me kick your ass"
I always enjoyed these pics of innocent men, women and children reaping their just reward.

this is a matter i have wrestled with.
who are the people of god, where are they to be found.
i feel that there are some within the watchtower organization as there are in other churches.
stevieb1:
Perhaps a question of equal importance is where can god be found? Other than some confusing and contradictory scriptures in the Torah, Koran, Bible and other tomes, he/she has been remarkably incommunicado for the last 6,000 years.
I see and read about good people every day of my life, but in 52 years I haven't seen god yet. He hasn't spoken to me from a burning bush or anywhere else.
So I am satisfied to say to god, "come out, come out whereever you are!"

Thank you for the emotional rant. You've proven my point.
You also struggle with contextual issues regarding my statements about American Indians. You and I both know that I was talking about American Indians at the time the Europeans settled this country. Not contempory American life and Indians. I hope I'm not invested in any companies of which you are on the board of directors.
If you ever decide to answer one of my questions about why we should pay reparations please give it a try, i.e. What will be gained? Who will be payed reparations? How much will be paid? Will it be a lump sum or as an anuity? Will blacks offer a quid quo pro for reparations, i.e. agreeing that this will be the end of the slavery debate? Will we all live happily ever after?
Your response is an emotional, shouldn't we pay reparations because it's the right thing to do? Says you! If that isn't your position, then you must agree with me, in which case I missed that acknowledgement by you.
So you see, throughout these threads I've asked these questions and more. You and others chose to ignore the questions and lift statements out of context for whatever uncertain point you struggled to make.
Have a nice evening.

It's called civilization. An orderly way for humans to conduct their affairs as a group. We have laws of property ownership. You may not like them, but they exist. You may think they are wrong, but they exist. You simply exist in a make believe plane. As far as Indians having a better way, well they too practiced slavery. They also practiced unbelievable acts of torture on their enemies. So to assign them some noble status in the annals of humankind is absolutely ridiculous. They were nomadic savages. You are an emotional bundle ready to explode.

You make wonderful EMOTIONAL arguments. But you also throw out suppostion and straw men in your arguments. You managed to go from the African American experience to Native American injustices as you see them. By the way, I think it's absolutely silly to pay American Indians for the land and resources that they never owned. They were nomadic tribal societies. But I can no longer argue against your emotionalism. It's like arguing cosmology with someone who believes the moon is made out of green cheese. Have a nice evening.

Please explain to me why reparations need to be a part of the black experience. What will be gained from it, other than income being redistributed from ALL taxpayers, including blacks, to other folks who cannot determine the monetary nature of the harm done to, not them, but their ancestors? (Many won't be able to make a claim based on ancestry because not all blacks trace their ancestry back to slavery). Will reparations be the end of the matter? Can white people abandon their collective guilt after reparations are made? Will blacks give up their victim status? If those conditions were met and these solutions could be reached, I'd be willing to kick in some cash. See, no one can answer those questions because those questions won't be asked.
So the issue isn't monetary reparations. The issue is, until we all live in the here and now, abandoning the past, we will never reach a solution to the racial problems facing us, both black and white.

You don't get it. You should drop to your knees every night and thank your lucky stars that you live in this country. Stop whining about principle and make the most of what you have. Not what you think someone owes you. It's pathetic and it doesn't speak well of you.
By the way, if you ever get reparations, and I hope you don't, they will be paid based on LAW passed by congress and not on principle. The checks will be cut on paper and not on principle.

You want money from me? Then come up with a claim based on something more meaningful than "I'm entitled and I want."
